Welcome to the IV International Conference on Fundamental Rights and Criminal Procedure in the Digital Age! 

We at InternetLab are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. Therefore, we have released this Privacy Policy to explain how we use your personal data when you register and participate in the IV International Conference On Fundamental Rights and Criminal Procedure in the Digital Age (“Conference”), that will be held online between 25-27 August and 2-4 September, 2020. 

For your participation in the Conference, it is mandatory that you are aware of and that you agree with this Privacy Policy, since we will need to collect and use some of your personal data. Thus, we recommend that you read this document carefully to better understand how we process your personal data. 

What data do we collect? 

To make your participation in the conference possible, we collect certain personal data. In particular, your registration will depend on the act of filling out the form, through which we collect the following personal data: (i) name, (ii) e-mail, (iii) institution and (iv) profession; in addiction of (v) visual and sound records of your participation in the event; and (vi) your opinion about the event.

We understand as personal data that information that allows your identification, directly or indirectly. We emphasize that we do not process your sensitive personal data, such as religious or political options, but only the data that we consider necessary to enable and improve your experience in the conference. 

We use cookies (small files saved in your browser, smartphone or other used device) while browsing the conference website. These cookies will be used to identify the browser’s language and configure it according to your preference and it will be used for analytical tools that collect usage data and help us to identify usage patterns of our services, such as pages that you visit and for how long. 

Besides, you authorize, free of charge and without reservations, that any image or sound recording made during the conference, by video and/or audio record and/or photo record in which you appear, can be use, modified and transmitted by any form, such as social networks or websites, through InternetLab. 

How do we collect your data?

We collect your personal data from the information that you filled in our Conference registration form. In addition, we can also collect data from your interaction during the Conference participation. 

We emphasize that your personal data won’t be received or shared with other platforms or  with InternetLab’s or third parties’ databases. 

For what purposes do we use your data? 

We use your personal data to (i) create a registration list that allows us to check your attendance at the conference; (ii) send to you instructions on accessing the conference; (iii) clarify any doubts that you have before, during or after the conference; (iv) promote the necessary technical support for your participation in the conference; (v) get in touch with you after the conference to get you feedback about the event; and, if requested, (vi) elaborate and send your certificate of participation at the conference; and (vii) send e-mails to you about the future editions of the conference, if requested. In addition, it may be necessary to use your data to (viii) respond to law enforcement solicitations and to attend legal and regulatory obligations; and (ix) other purposes, to the extent permitted by applicable law. 

Also, you can choose, at any time, to stop receiving e-mails about the next edition of the conference, through the selection of the unsubscribe option in e-mail itself. 

How do we store your personal data?

We are committed to implementing physical, technical and administrative security controls of information security in the processing of your personal data, in accordance with the best practices in the market, in order to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, accidental or illegal destruction, loss, alteration, communication or any other form of illegal or inappropriate data processing. 

We store your information for as long as necessary to obtain the purposes for which it was collected. In some cases, we can retain your personal data even if you request to get it deleted, as in the case of a legal obligation to keep the data, if there is a demand related to your registration, or if it is necessary for our legitimate interests, such as fraud preventing and enhancing conference security. 

When contracting data storage services, we always look for companies that employ a high level of security in the storage of your information, establishing contracts that do not violate the terms of this Privacy Policy.

What are your rights? 

We are committed to enabling in the best possible way the exercise of your rights as a personal data subject (such as confirmation, access, correction, anonymization, exclusion, revocation of consent, among others). We seek to respond, to the extent possible, to the requests related to your rights as personal data subject, except in cases in which the custody of some of your personal data is requested or authorized by law. 

Besides that, it is possible for you to manage cookies preferences from your browser settings, refusing or deleting some of them. However, this option may compromise some of the conference’s services or prevent the operation of some of its features.

General provisions 

This Privacy Policy represents the valid and efficient version of the information about your personal data processing by InternetLab for the realization of the conference. 

We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any change that impacts the consent that you eventually provided us or becomes a burden to you will be previously communicated. However, any alteration made for legal reasons or due to new services will take effect immediately.

Besides that, although we seek to always offer you the best experience possible at our conferences, InternetLab can freely implement changes and alterations in the conference. 

The items in the Privacy Policy will remain in force even after the end of the conference, and they will continue to have effects on you and on us.
